    Fish Hatchery

    Just 6 miles from the Lodge is Wizard Falls Hatchery, where rainbow trout, Kokanee salmon, spring Chinook and summer steelhead are raised. See the fish in different stages of development, and bring your quarters to feed the fish in the settling pond. Group tours are available with a reservation. The river here is a spectacular icy turquoise. Be sure to stroll one of the riverside trails.

    From the lodge, you’re minutes from the pristine waters of the Metolius River, a fly fishing mecca. If convenience is what you’re after, our one-acre fishing pond is teeming with rainbow trout and crayfish. Kids under 12 can fish with hooks and lures. New to fishing? No problem. We offer lessons.

    Just out the steps of your cabin lie several trails that wind beneath our property’s majestic tamaracks, firs and pines. Wander the path all the way to the banks of the Metolius River. Beyond our campus, discover miles upon miles of trails to hike or bike in the Deschutes National Forest and Mount Jefferson Wilderness.

    It’s nice to have nowhere to be. Our cabins are outfitted with cozy furniture and plenty of seating options, so you can hole up with a good book or a diabolical sudoku. One of the most incredible things about this place is the camaraderie among guests, acquainted and not. You never know who you’ll meet or what the day will bring. So make plans to have no plans.

    Quintessential to any camp experience is a casual pick-up game with friends, old and new. Hit a few balls or shoot some hoops on our tennis, pickleball or basketball courts. We have all the equipment. All you need to bring is your game. Prefer diversions at a slower pace? Try badminton, corn hole, croquet, horseshoe or one of our other lawn games.

    Kids love our campus for all the reasons grown ups do, plus there are hidden treasures throughout. Like our play set, nestled among the trees, the seasonal outdoor pool, or simply splashing in the creek or riding bikes on the bridges and trails.

    Lake Creek Trail

    Pick up Lake Creek Trail less than a mile north of the Lodge. Walk, mountain bike or run the 8.8-mile out-and-back trail in reverse. Beautiful Suttle Lake makes the perfect pit stop at the halfway point. Find restrooms and the lodge and Boathouse restaurant there as well. The route is quiet and considered fairly easy—perfect for a soundscape walk and birdwatching.
