    Fish Hatchery

    Just 6 miles from the Lodge is Wizard Falls Hatchery, where rainbow trout, Kokanee salmon, spring Chinook and summer steelhead are raised. See the fish in different stages of development, and bring your quarters to feed the fish in the settling pond. Group tours are available with a reservation. The river here is a spectacular icy turquoise. Be sure to stroll one of the riverside trails.

    Fly Fishing

    From the lodge, you’re minutes from the pristine waters of the Metolius River, a fly fishing mecca. If convenience is what you’re after, our one-acre fishing pond is teeming with rainbow trout and crayfish. Kids under 12 can fish with hooks and lures. New to fishing? No problem. We offer lessons.

    Central Oregon is home to endless miles of bike-friendly trails, paths and roads. Take a quiet, gentle spin along the paved road into Camp Sherman. Or explore the many forest service trails. Mountain bikers should check out the Metolius-Windigo trail, which provides over 100 miles of rugged riding bliss.

    Hoodoo Ski & Snowboard

    Looking for an adrenaline rush? Head to the slopes at Hoodoo Ski Area, just 15 miles away. Located on the Santiam Pass summit, conquer the slopes with 800 acres of terrain and 34 runs to discover. Fun for all ages is Autobahn Tubing Park, one of the largest in the region, located right on the mountain. Discounted lift tickets available when making a reservation with Lake Creek Lodge, or stop by the lodge to purchase.

    Lake Creek Trail

    Pick up Lake Creek Trail less than a mile north of the Lodge. Walk, mountain bike or run the 8.8-mile out-and-back trail in reverse. Beautiful Suttle Lake makes the perfect pit stop at the halfway point. Find restrooms and the lodge and Boathouse restaurant there as well. The route is quiet and considered fairly easy—perfect for a soundscape walk and birdwatching.
