OREGON FLY FISHING

Spending hours in the crystal clear waters of the Metolius River fishing is an honest to goodness dream. Wander the picturesque riverside trails to find your perfect fishing hole, then cast to your heart’s content with iconic ponderosa pines as your backdrop. Thanks to the diverse fish population, no two days fishing the Metolius are alike. Depending on the season, expect bull trout, Kokanee and rainbow trout.

Right here on campus, our one-acre fly fishing pond is stocked with rainbow trout and crayfish. It’s a great spot for beginners and fun for any sportsman looking to set their hook. It also offers exceptional wildlife viewing as we have eagles, great blue herons, deer and otters that often hang out around the pond.

Brush up on your fly fishing game with lessons from one of our local fishing professionals. All equipment and licensing are provided. All you have to do is show up ready to fish. Details & booking.

Know before you go: The Metolius is fly fishing only above Bridge 99 (Lower Bridge). Artificial flies & lures are allowed below. The entire river is catch and release. While beautiful, the river is quite cold (averaging 42-45℉), so dress accordingly. For additional details, check out the Department of Fish & Wildlife’s Central Zone regulations.
