Voices of the Community: A Celebration of Local Authors

April 30 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Metolius river authors

April brings many surprises to Lake Creek Lodge and the surroundings. Wildflowers poke their
heads up, wildlife roams the property, and this year, we welcome our new restaurant owners,
Sean and Chasen. In the spirit of community, we feature reading and discussion of books by local
authors Wednesdays in April from 3:30-5:00 PM in the bar. Appetizers and mixed drinks, wine, beer,
and specialty coffees are available from the menu. Discounted autographed books will be available.

Shift gears for our last literary event on April 30, presenting the Gold Medal Award for History
author Valerie J Anderson as she reads from and discusses Pearl Harbor’s Final Warning: A
Man, a Message and Paradise Lost. This presentation is not to be missed. Anderson discusses
her journey into life-changing research as she uncovers an unfolding and long-hidden piece of
important history. The book is non-fiction but reads like a good novel.

Anderson is joined by Chuck Lesowski, aka James Andrew Edske, to present his novel In The
Silence, another gripping tale of cultural dissection and human worth. This one is a nail-biter and
seat gripper, for sure. Lesowske writes with a message and leaves you thinking about, or
rethinking, what you thought you knew and believed.
