Voices of the Community: A Celebration of Local Authors

April brings many surprises to Lake Creek Lodge and the surroundings. Wildflowers poke their
heads up, wildlife roams the property, and this year, we welcome our new restaurant owners,
Sean and Chasen. In the spirit of community, we feature reading and discussion of books by local
authors Wednesdays in April from 3:30-5:00 PM in the bar. Appetizers and mixed drinks, wine, beer,
and specialty coffees are available from the menu. Discounted autographed books will be available.

April 16, we offer a special treat with renowned local author Melody Carlson with her latest
release, Welcome to the Honey B&B. Melody has authored over 300 titles and is a fixture in the
local literary scene. Her latest offering deals with the issue of memory loss and the challenges a
caregiver faces, inspired by her journey through her husband’s memory loss diagnosis and
subsequent death.

Melody will be joined by Chuck Lesowski, writing under the pen name James Andrew Edske, as
he presents his latest title, The Nine Commandments, Christian-based inspirational fiction with a
dark twist. Chuck writes about current cultural issues framed in fast-paced fictional stories that
keep you turning the page.
