See the best Central Oregon Birds
The Lodge is a fantastic spot for birdwatching! Our private grounds sit alongside a creek in the heart of the Metolius Watershed, where a unique mix of habitats — from riparian wetlands to Ponderosa pine forest — attracts an incredible variety of birds. Years of careful restoration have made Lake Creek Lodge a true haven for birds and bird lovers alike.
Woodpeckers, Owls, Hummingbirds & More
Sit by the pond, stroll the nature trails, or explore by wheelchair — you’ll have a chance to spot woodpeckers, owls, warblers, hummingbirds, waterfowl, birds of prey, and dozens more species, depending on the season. White-headed Woodpeckers and several sapsucker species are regular visitors to the grounds, and during spring migration, it’s common to spot over thirty species in a single outing. At night, relax on your cabin porch and listen for up to five different owl species calling in the dark.
